In 2012 MACM joined The International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM). The ISCM World Music Days is an international festival of contemporary music. Each year, the festival is organized by a different branch of ISCM. The World Music Days 2012 festival took place from October 25th to November 4th 2012 in Belgium’s major performing arts centers. During the festival’s 11 days, a symphonic orchestra, 22 ensembles and soloists will play 33 concerts in 6 different cities, and will feature the works of more than 150 composers from 46 countries.

Most of the performed works are entries of the national ISCM branches, from Argentina to Sweden. The festival also is a unique opportunity to put works by Belgian composers in the international spotlights.

The World Music Days 2012 can count on a unique partnership in the sector, with more than 25 Belgian organizations represented, including the main concert halls and ensembles of the country. More than just a festival, the World Music Days is also a meeting place for organizations, performers and composers, a window to the world for the whole sector of new music in Belgium and abroad.
